Plague Doctor: Apothecary · Inside the demo
The Apothecary demo is open: from your first brew to your first customer
The free demo is out on Steam. Here’s a closer look at making remedies, reading patients and keeping your little shop running.

The doors are open
Plague Doctor: Apothecary’s free demo is available on Steam. If you’ve been curious about life behind the counter in Rookbridge, you can now try it for yourself. Here’s what you’ll be doing once you step inside.
Make the remedy, then mind the shop
Brewing is hands-on: grind your herbs, stir the kettle, then bottle and cork the finished remedy. Timing and clean equipment matter to the quality of the batch.
The work doesn’t end at the kettle. Unpack supplies, stock the shelves, choose your prices and serve customers. Count change yourself or use automatic counting, then check the evening ledger before planning your next day.
Listen before you prescribe
Some customers need more than a bottle off the shelf. At the consultation desk, read their clues, ask questions and use your journal to choose a remedy from your stock. It’s another reason to pay attention to what you’re making—not just how much you can sell.
Take your time—with clear demo limits
There’s no in-game day limit, so you don’t have to rush through your first few days. That doesn’t mean the demo contains everything: it allows one worker, while annex expansions, additional workers, trade licences and additional rank, family and trial recipes are reserved for the full game.
Thanks to everyone giving the shop a try. I’d love to hear what you enjoy most, and what feels confusing: making remedies, figuring out a consultation, or keeping the counter running. Those specific experiences are useful feedback.
