Black Hollow: four hunting grounds, room to fight

From Ashen Abbey to Cinderwatch Foundry, a look beyond your upgrade choices and into the places where you put them to work.

Captured Black Hollow gameplay: Ashen Abbey. This is a full-game capture, not a guarantee of identical demo visuals or balance.

Look up from the upgrade screen

Yesterday’s devlog focused on choosing a direction for your build. Today, it’s the hunting grounds themselves: Black Hollow, Ashen Abbey, Mournwater and Cinderwatch Foundry. The screenshot above is a glimpse of Ashen Abbey’s graveyard, captured in-game.

Give yourself somewhere to go

The official gameplay description puts it simply: learn each hunting ground and find room to fight. As the infected close in, keeping space matters alongside the powers you choose. Watch your surroundings, look for an opening, and think about where you can move next.

Which setting catches your eye first: the abbey, Mournwater, the foundry, or Black Hollow itself? I’d love to hear what makes a hunting ground memorable for you.

A note for launch day

October 30 is Black Hollow’s planned Steam release date. At the time this morning’s entry was prepared, Steam still listed the full game as coming soon; check the official page for its current availability. This post is not an announcement that it has unlocked.

Thanks for following along. The full game supports solo play or up to four-player online co-op; the free demo is single-player.
